70cl / 44.7% / Clan Denny - A 1965 vintage grain whisky bottled by the grain lovers at Clan Denny. This matured for 45 years and lasted longer than the Carsebridge distillery, which was one of the many distilleries mothballed in 1983 and was dismantled in the early 1990s.

It aims to make shoe components from rear to midfoot and forefoot to work together effectively to allow the body to perform in a natural manner. ASICS designers strive to compliment, not correct, how the legs and feet move. Features Solyte, a proprietary cushioning material that provides an exceptionally lightweight midsole with excellent bounce-back and durability. Utilises the Space Trusstic, an advanced system that creates a pocket between the Trusstic System device and the midsole, allowing for greater midsole deformation and more efficient foot function. Forefoot GEL reduces the loading forces as the foot moves into propulsion, improving performance and minimising the risk of injury. Deep garnet in colour, with tremendous intensity on the nose. Colonnello is always very perfumed and floral on the nose because of the sandy soils in which the vines grow. Blackberry and woodland fruit characters on the palate are balanced by rounded, ripe tannins and powerful structure. The Colonnello vineyard is one of Conterno's best vineyards. It is situated on Bussia Soprana in Monforte d'Alba and is one of the most sought after sites in the area. Maceration on the skins lasted 24 days and was followed by temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tank with maximum temperatures of 32°C. The wine remained in stainless steel for a further 4-5 months after which it was transferred to 25hl Slovenian oak barrels where it remained for about 26-28 months before bottling.

Chocolate and cool earth notes on the nose, followed by cassis, tobacco and stewed plum flavours on the palate. This wine is elegant and beautifully balanced, rich yet smooth with medium body and supple tannins. Long and elegant finish. The fruit for this wine is sourced from the 0.4 hectare Castagnola vineyard which is located in Lessona between 290-310 metres above sea level in the Orolungo region. Soils here are ancient marine sands from the pliocene period on igneous rock (granite), topped with more recent silty glacial sediments. The soil is acidic (p H 4.5 - 5.5) and rich in minerals and trace elements including iron, manganese, aluminium and zinc. The vines are 100% Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux clones, 3309-C, 101-14 (low vigour rootstocks) with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare. The grapes were hand pick in mid October and sorted while on the conveyor belt, then destemmed and gently pressed. They were then fed by gravity into the fermentation tanks. Fermentation took place with natural yeasts in open topped wooden fermenters. Maceration lasted 3-4 weeks with regular punching down of the cap. The wine aged in French oak barriques, 50% new oak, for two years. It remained in bottle for some time before release.

A bright, youthful colour with medium intensity gives way to a pure, lifted perfume that combines cherries and plums. On the palate, the wine has a good depth of supple, sinewy fruit that is beautifully balanced and long on finish. Grapes for this wine are grown in the Ormeggio, Castagnola and Belvedere vineyards in Lessona in the Orolungo region. The altitude is between 290-350m above sea level. Soils are sandy and acidic (p H 4.5 - 5.5) and rich in minerals and trace elements including iron, manganese, aluminium and zinc. Some fruit is also sourced from the 35 year old Madonna degli Angeli vineyard in Brusnengo in the Forte region which is included in the Bramaterra D.O.C. The harvest was done by hand with the Vespolina and Croatina grapes picked in the last ten days of September and the Nebbiolo slightly later in the middle of October. The wines are vinified in the old, gravity-fed cellar which dates back to the beginning of the 19th Century. Fermentation took place in squat, open upright oak casks. Maceration lasted 3-4 weeks with regular punching down of the cap. The wine was aged in a mixture of new and old barriques (225L), puncheons (500L) and 15 hectolitre casks for 18 months. Grape varieties: 65% Nebbiolo, 20% Vespolina, 15% Croatina.
