It is actually quite a modern building, but it is traditional in style with plenty of exposed woodwork and intricate detailing. The medium sized lobby is wonderfully elegant with beautiful carved woodwork and a pale tiled floor. There is also a small seating area. This hotel is ideal base to explore everything which Zermatt as to offer. Highly recommended for guests wanting the peace and quiet away from the Centre of the Village. The hotel has recently opened a new wellness area with swimming pool, sauna, and treatment areas, the entrance to which is included for hotel guests. The rooms are beautiful. They are all different shapes and sizes (on average they are large though) and the decoration varies from room to room. Overall, though, the style of the rooms is a fine balance between rustic and more elegant traditional Swiss styles. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in exceptional condition. The restaurant, which is located on the ground floor, continues the theme of refined elegance combined with traditional Swiss rustic charm. This hotel comes highly recommended, it is one of Zermatt's loveliest four star properties. It is also particularly suitable for young families as it has a large childrens' play room.
