Shrinkies Info What are Shrinkies? Shrinkies are tiny transparent plastic tubes that are dual walled with a keratin coating on the inside. A section of your natural hair is inserted into the tube, then the pre-tipped extension is inserted alongside your hair. The tube is then shrinkwrapped around both the extension and your natural hair using a fusion wand, creating a strong invisible bond without the use of damaging glues or chemicals. The tubes are removed using the fusion wand and any keratin residue left on your natural hair can be easily by your extensionist using specialist chemical free essential oils. What hair is used? I use 100% soft silky cuticle correct human hair. Who can wear Shrinkies extensions? Anyone looking for longer, thicker and more luxurious hair can benefit from the system. Those with fine or fragile hair will also benefit enormously, as will those that require just a few highlights or lowlights without chemically colouring their natural hair. Will it damage my natural hair? With Shrinkies, there is no tension or stretching involved during the installation, maintenance or removal process. No hot glues or chemicals are used at any time. The bonds literally shrink around the extension and your natural hair, and the keratin coating inside the tube stops any movement of the bond.Shrinkies are the safest and most comfortable system available today. How do I care for my extensions? With Shrinkies you can colour, perm and style your hair as normal. Extension hair differs from your natural hair in that although it is 100% human hair, it is no longer receiving nutrients from the scalp, and therefore should be given extra care during washing, conditioning and styling. I have a range of products that have had proven results in keeping extension hair soft and manageable. How long do they last? That is entirely in your hands. With regular maintenance and the use of quality products, your extensions will stay soft, silky and manageable. The extensions are pre-tipped and therefore re-usable if the condition of the hair is still good.I recommend that you let your hair grow no longer than one to one and a half inches (approx 3cm) before your re-installation as longer than this increases the risk of breakage from brushing and styling. This depends on the growth rate of your natural hair and can be anything between eight to twelve weeks.
