The Noble Fir is an up and coming lady to the Christmas Tree market. Her characteristic horizontal branches are saught after by a growing select and she wont shed her needles. Miss Noble Fir will arrive at your door between 20 and 40 cms tall and can grow up to 45m if not pruned. Growing to 150ft 45m layers of horizontal branches form the characteristic regular outline of the Noble Fir. It is a hardy tree withstanding the wind and snow on exposed northern sites even where the soil is poor making it a viable timber tree in some upland forests. In the less rugged south the noble fir often sickens and sometimes dies attacked by woolly aphids which destroy the terminal bud. It also fares badly in the shade or on very chalky soils. The antique looking parrot cage Noble is the perfect home for your feathered friend Measuring 82 x 77 x 157 cm (L x W x H) this cage is very roomy with plenty of space for feeding and drinking bowls which you can place where you wish. The Noble cage is rectangular in shape with a gently curved roof giving the cage an oriental look. The dimensions of the cage without the debris trap are 60.5 x 56 x 135.5 cm (L x W x H). There are two perches in different lengths for your pet to sit and sleep on. The front and back of the cage have vertical bars the sides are horizontal 2.5 cm apart. There is a large robust door in the front of the cage measuring 22 x 50 cm (L x W) so that your pet can go in and out easily and you also have good access to the inside of the cage. The door catch is made from brass and the bolt is incorporated in the cage so that you can open the door but your parrot cannot If you want to let your parrot fly around or perch on top of the cage there is a handy roof door which you can open and attach the smaller perch to. This is the perfect place for your parrot to sit and watch the world go by. There are also 3 small doors 15 x 11 cm (L x W) on the sides of the cage. These practical little doors can be used to quickly take the food and drink bowls out. The 3 included metal bowls (11 x 4.5 cm) can be mounted directly onto these doors and your bird will always knows where to find food and water. There is a metal litter tray in the base of the Noble cage. This tray is 60.5 x 56 x 5 cm (L x W x H) and can be easily removed for cleaning. There is also an excrement grille of the top of the tray. This can be removed if it is not needed. The lower part of the cage also has bars so your feathered friend cannot fly away When your parrot is in the base of the cage the dirt trap stops the debris flying out . The surrounding areas remain clean which makes your housework easier. There are wheels on the legs of the cage so that you can move it around easily to wherever you want it. It was inevitable that the Dutch travelling spirit for discovery and trade would alight frequently upon Greek terrain from the early Renaissance onwards. This illustrated volume accompanies and amplifies a 1995 Dutch exhibition concerned with Dutch travel to Greece and the Levant between the 15th and the 19th centuries, and specifically with travel accounts in the Dutch language in which Greece and the Greeks are discussed. It charts the transition in Dutch outlook from the early Dutch pilgrims, still medieval in outlook and as devout Catholics deeply suspicious and hostile towards the Orthodox Greeks, to those of the Renaissance and Enlightenment, when Greece was revered as the source of western culture and learning; the latter transition culminating in the Philhellenic movements of the 19th century. Special emphasis has been given to Chios (the "Garden of Eden"), and Mani which kept a degree of independence during the period of Turkish domination. The first part of this volume provides an historical outline to the exhibition and introduces the exhibits and themes.
