First edition published by Angus & Robertson, Sydney in 1968. Book is hardcover with dust wrapper. Dust wrapper is unclipped showing a price of 25/- net and is in very good condition with some bumping and chipping to extremities, fading to spine and edges a couple of small tears, none larger than approx 1cm. Binding is brown cloth covered boards with gilt titles to spine. Binding is nice and tight with no cracking to hinges and is in very good condition with very minor bumping and rubbing to corners and edges and virtually no marks to covers. Text block shows some ageing to edges and very light foxing, otherwise text is clean throughout. A small bookseller sticker to front pastedown under d/w foldover. Bears no inscriptions. Rich is known as one of the pioneers in Neck Through construction. They utilize it on many of their guitars because it provides the best possible sustain resonance comfort and access to higher frets. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high end guitars. This construction starts with premium North American maple or Mahogany and runs from the tip of the headstock to the end of the guitar. This means that the headstock fingerboard pickups and bridge all are mounted to this single sound foundation. Sonically it is a difference you can hear.
