Then it’s time to change into your suits and hit the water. This is the only powerboat experience in the UK that is run and delivered by the current National Zapcat Championship winning team. Not only do they hold RYA race licences but also safety boat advanced powerboat and instructor tickets. Your instructor will then demonstrate exactly what these crazy machines are capable of; expect to spend as much time surfing through the air as on the water. Just under 50mph top speed up to 3 G in a turn leap 6ft into the air and you start to understand what these boats can do! The skill of the pilot a couple of foot straps and ropes are all that is going to prevent you from going for a swim! But if you do you will be wearing a helmet lifejacket and top of the range dry suit and a safety boat will be there to rescue you. As all race co-pilots will tell you “You don’t qualify to call yourself a Zapcat co-pilot unless you have been for at least one swim!” Then weather permitting and at the instructors discretion it’s your turn…open the engine and feel the power of the Zapcat how good is that? Minimum age: 16 (Participants under 18 years old need parental/guardian consent) Maximum Weight: 21 Stone Minimum Height: 4’10” Maximum Height: 6’6” Fitness/Medical: Non swimmers are accepted but please inform the venue at the safety briefing. No experience is necessary to take part as this experience is aimed at beginners . All guests will be asked to sign a Health & Safety declaration and an indemnity form.
