Night Nurse is formulated to be taken only at night-time. Specially concentrated, just one dose at bedtime relieves major cold symptoms quickly, helping you to get a good night's sleep and to wake feeling better. This bottle contains 8 adult doses to relieve: *Tickly cough and sore throat *Runny nose *Aches and pains *Fevers and shivers and so help comfortable, restful sleep. Each measure, at bedtime, of the concentrated Night Nurse formulation in a demulcent syrup contains: Promethazine, with decongestant action to dry up runny noses and sniffles, so easing breathing; Dextromethorphan, to reduce the tickly cough so often associated with colds; Paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic to relieve aches, pains, shivers and reduce temperature. Drug Interaction Precautions : Night Nurse liquid is a complete night-time cold treatment; do not take with any other flu, cold or decongestant products or other paracetamol-containing products at night, or with alcohol. Night Nurse liquid may cause drowsiness, but as the product is intended to be taken only at bedtime, this shouldn't be a problem. However, if you are affected, you should not drive or operate machinery. Do not take Night Nurse liquid if: *you are allergic to paracetamol, promethazine hydrochloride, dextromethorpan hydrobromide or any of the other ingredients listed. *you have kidney or liver problems. *you are taking, or have taken in the last two weeks, medicines prescribed by your doctor or hospital for depression (including monoamine oxidase inhibitors or MAOIs). *you are having a pregnancy test carried out on your urine. Talk to your doctor first if: *you have asthma or other breathing problems, epilepsy, glaucoma, urinary retention (difficulty in passing water), or prostate or heart problems. *you are taking medicines to thin the blood (anticoagulants) e.g. warfarin. *you are taking medicines which make you drowsy, or which give you a dry mouth or blurred vision, or which have been prescribed for anxiety or to help you sleep. Kaloba® is a traditional herbal medicinal product used to relieve the symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections such as common cold, sore throat, cough and blocked or runny nose, exclusively based on long-standing use as a traditional remedy. It is also available in 50ml packs.Kaloba contains Pelargonium sidoides, a member of the geranium family. It has long stalked leaves that are mildly aromatic, heart shaped and velvety.Kaloba® is available in easy to administer oral drops and can be given to children six years and over.Warning DO NOT TAKE this product if you are:- allergic to any of the ingredients (see product description below)- suffer from severe liver or kidney disease- pregnant or breast-feeding If you suffer from an increased tendency to bleeding and/or take anti-coagulating drugs such as warfarin, there is a theoretical risk that taking this product may increase the risk of bleeding.This product is not suitable for children under the age of 6 years.Kaloba oral solution contains 12 vol% ethanol (alcohol).This corresponds to:- 180mg alcohol equivalent to 3.6ml beer or 1.5ml wine per adult’s single dose (30 drops)- 120 mg alcohol equivalent to 2.4ml beer or 1.0ml wine per children’s single dose (20 drops).This is harmful for those suffering from alcoholism. The alcohol content should be taken into consideration when treating children and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.Directions Adults and children over 12 years - Take 30 drops three times daily.Children aged 6-12 years - Take 20 drops three times daily.The correct dosage can be taken straight from a spoon or mixed with half a glass of water. The entire contents of the glass should be drunk straightaway. Take one dose in the morning, midday and evening.After the relief of symptoms, continue treatment for a further 2-3 days to prevent a relapse. Wait at least 4 hours after you last took other painkillers before taking this medicine.2. BEFORE YOU TAKE CO-CODAMOLThis medicine contains codeine which can cause addiction if you take it continuously for more than 3 days. • If you take a painkiller for headaches for more than 3 days it can make them worse Do not take co-codamol and tell your doctor if:• You are allergic (hypersensitive) to codeine, paracetamol or any of the other ingredients in your medicine (listed in Section 6: Further information) Signs of an allergic reaction include a rash and breathing problems. There can also be swelling of the legs, arms, face, throat or tongue The person going to take the tablets is under 12 years of age.
