Gear 4 Music Product Information
Angled Headstock The pointed headstock on the V-Factor X is as typical as it is unique. Like every Gibson headstock it is carved out of the same piece of mahogany as the neck. It is not a "glued-on" headstock and the process takes craftsmanship time and effort. But the rewards are worth the effort. The headstock is carefully angled at 17 degrees which increases pressure on the strings and helps them stay in the nut slots. An increase in string pressure also means there is no loss of string vibration between the nut and the tuners which equals better sustain. A white truss rod cover adds a nice finishing touch to the headstock and perfectly complements the white pickguard on the V-Factor X body. The V-Factor X Neck Profile No guitar neck profiles are more distinguishable than the neck profiles employed on the Gibson models of today. The more traditional 50s neck profile is the thicker more rounded contour emulating the neck shapes of Gibsons iconic models of the late 1950s. The 60s neck profile is considered the more modern slim-tapered contour most commonly associated with the Gibson models of the early 1960s. The neck on Gibsons V-Factor X has the best of both worlds - it is a hybrid between the 50s rounded contour and the 60s slim-taper profile. As with all Gibson necks it is machined in Gibsons rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. Once the fingerboard gets glued on the rest - including the final sanding - is done by hand. That means there are no two necks with the exact same dimensions. So while it still has the basic characteristics of its respective profile each neck will be slightly different with a distinct but traditional feel.Solid Mahogany Body The most central of all V-Factor X features is its V-shaped solid mahogany body. Whether its the regular Flying V or the Gibson V-Factor X the solid mahogany body provides tone sustain and performance. The mahogany goes through the same rigorous selection process as all of Gibsons woods and is personally inspected and qualified by Gibsons team of skilled wood experts before it enters the factories. Inside the Gibson factories humidity is maintained at 45 percent and the temperature at 70 degrees. This insures all woods are dried to a level of "equilibrium" where the moisture content does not change during the manufacturing process. This guarantees tight-fitting joints and no expansion and helps control the shrinkage and warping of the woods in addition to helping reduce the weight. It also helps with improving the woods? machinability and finishing properties. Consistent moisture content means that a Gibson guitar will respond evenly to temperature and humidity changes long after it leaves the factory.Electronics When it comes to guitar electronics less is definitely better. And that certainly holds true with Gibsons V-Factor X. Gibson has chosen to install two volume controls and only one tone switch which translates into less resistance between the pickup and the actual output. That means you end up with nothing but pure tone from the pickup and one flat-out screaming rock and roll machine.Gibsons 496R and 500T Pickups No event is more responsible for dramatically influencing the evolution of popular music than Gibson?s introduction of the double-coil "humbucking" pickup in 1955. From the warm jazz tones of Charlie Christian to the world-shaking rockabilly of Scotty Moore and the cruching rock of Jimmy Page countless players around the world explored the limitless possibilities of the tonal spectrum through Gibson pickups and guitars. As the musical landscape changed so did the development of the humbucker pickup. Introduced in the early 1970s Gibsons 496R and 500T pickups filled the need for more powerful humbuckers and energized the emergence of hard rock and heavy metal. The 496R produces incredible sustain and cutting power with its ceramic magnet adding more highs with increased definition and no muddiness at all. The 500T is one of Gibsons most powerful pickups containing a three ceramic magnet structure which enables a no-holds-barred rock and roll crunch that never loses its rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs. This is one of Gibsons most potent pickup combinations.Features/Specifications:Body:Body Style: Flying VBody Species: Mahogany Neck:Species: Mahogany Nut: Corian Nut Width: Standard Gibson: 1.695" +/- .050"Truss Rod: Gibson Adjustable Truss Rod Truss Rod Cover: Flying V cover stamped with Gibson Logo Fingerboard:Fingerboard Species: Rosewood Inlays: Acrylic dot Number of Frets: 22Scale Length: 24 - 3/4"Electronics:Neck Pickup: 496RBridge Pickup: 500TControls: 2 Volume - 1 Tone - 3-Way Toggle Control Knobs: Black Tophats with Silver Inserts Hardware:Plating Finish: Chrome Tailpiece: Gibson Stop Bar Bridge: Gibson Tune-O-Matic Tuners: Grover Kluson Style Green Keys A certain aura of mystique surrounds the Gibson Flying V. An electric guitar well ahead of its time when it was introduced in 1958 the Flying Vs intense magnetic appeal powerful sound and unusually familiar shape have made it one of the most instantly recognizable guitars in the world. Gibson was looking to add a futuristic aspect to the companys image when they introduced the Flying V. While some of the greatest guitar players of all-time - including Lonnie Mack and Albert King - immediately embraced the Flying V it wasnt until Gibson reintroduced the guitar in 1967 that the rest of the world caught on. Guitar Gods like Jimi Hendrix Johnny Winter Billy Gibbons Michael Schenker and Lenny Kravitz have all succumbed to the Flying Vs fascinating allure.

Gear 4 Music Product Information
The body is capped with a carved maple top-plain maple on Ebony and Goldtops for a beautiful AA-maple on other finishes - and the hand fitted neck tenon sports the rounded C-Shape profile common on the Les Pauls of the 80s and 90s. Gibson is also proud to announce the Traditional is Gibson USAs first model to utilize the revolutionary Plek System-a computer controlled set up that carefully measure and dresses each fret accurately measuring the height between the fingerboard and each string virtually eliminating string buzz and providing unbeatable playability.Clean Bridge:##mp3 19540##Clean Neck:##mp3 19552##Dirty Bridge:##mp3 19553##Dirty Neck:##mp3 19554##Two of the Gibsons best-loved humbuckers-a legendry PAF pickups. Other traditional appointments include vintage-style Gibson speed knobs classic Kluson-style tuners by Tone Pros which offer period-correct looks with a higher tuning ratio and a chrome Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar. Each Les Paul Traditional also comes with Gibson USAs standard black snakeskin case.Tone Pros Kluson Vintage-Style Tuners The Les Paul Traditional is outfitted with Kluson-style tuners from Tone Pros which are made to look identical to the vintage tuners found on earlier Les Pauls. These new tuners offer world-class performance while retaining the classic look and feel of one of the most popular-and most copied-tuners of all time. These Tone Pros machine heads feature completely sealed components with an improved 16:1 tuning ratio.Vintage Gibson Speed Knobs The Les Pauls of the 1980s and 1990s were used to play heavy duty rock and roll and its features were designed to make playing the music as simple as possible. Gibsons classic speed knobs made it comfortable and quick for players to turn up the volume and adjust the Les Pauls tone as needed in a flash.Plus Maple Top Ever since the introduction of the Les Paul?and especially the models from Gibson "Golden Era" of the late 1950s and early 1960s - one of its most distinguishing features has been the unique highly distinct patterns of the flame maple top. The "Plus" maple caps on the Les Paul Traditionals emulate the tops of the Les Pauls from yesteryear (Ebony and Goldtop models are fitted with "Plain" maple tops).Period-Correct Pickguard The creme-colored pickguard has been a Les Paul staple dating back to the models of the late 1950s and the early 1960s. Many players however removed the pickguard from their Les Pauls to show off the beauty of the flame maple tops moving Gibson to stop installing the pickguard altogether. During the 1980s and 1990s Gibson began reinstalling the pickguard in the factory and the Les Pauls from this era once again arrived in stores bearing the classic creme-colored pickguard. The Les Paul Traditional comes equipped with a period-correct pickguard designed to protect the maple top.Weight-relieved Mahogany Body Satisfying the call in the early 1980s to make a lighter Les Paul Gibson engineers came up with the idea of placing strategically routed holes in the Les Pauls body to lessen the weight of the guitar. After trying several patterns the final configuration of holes resulted in a Les Paul with enhanced acoustic qualities and improved resonance. This same period-correct pattern is used in the Les Paul Traditional. The body itself is made from premium mahogany and it goes through the same rigorous processes as all the wood used by Gibson USA.Pickups: Neck - 57 Classic; Bridge - 57 Classic Plus Among the qualities that make Gibsons original "Patent Applied For" humbucking pickups so unique are the subtle variations between coil windings. For the first few years of their productions-1955 to 1961-Gibsons PAF humbuckers were wound using imprecise machines resulting in pickups with slightly different output and tone. The 57 Classic and 57 Classic Plus pickups are the result of Gibson drive to capture and recreate this characteristic. Introduced in 1992 the 57 Classic provides warm full tone with a balanced response packing that classic Gibson PAF humbucker crunch. The 57 Classic Plus is the perfect bridge-position companion to the 57 Classic inspired by those original PAFs that received a few extra turns of wire. Both are made by Gibson to the exact same specs as the original PAFs including Alnico II magnets nickel-plated pole pieces nickel slugs maple spacers and vintage-style two-conductor braided wiring. Gibson added poly-coated wiring which improves consistency by eliminating thick or thin spots on the wiring and wax potting which removes all internal air space and any chance of microphonic feedback.Revolutionary Plek Set Up The Les Paul Traditional is the first model from Gibson USA to utilize the revolutionary Plek machine in setting up the guitar. The Plek is a German-made computer-controlled machine that carefully measures each fret along with the fingerboard height under each string and then automatically dresses each fret virtually... You asked for it - you got it. Introducing the Les Paul Traditional electric guitar from Gibson USA. With all the fat sweet snarling Les Paul tone that purists love the Traditional plays sounds and weighs like the Les Pauls todays guitar players grew up loving and lusting after. Taking design and visual cues from the Les Pauls of the 80s and 90s the Gibson Les Paul Traditional starts with an un-chambered mahogany body with traditional weight-relief holes for a beefy tone that maintains the resonance of modern Les Pauls. Each Les Paul Traditional also comes with Gibson USAs standard black snakeskin case.

These Tone Pros machine heads feature completely sealed components with an improved 16:1 tuning ratio.Vintage Gibson Speed Knobs - The Les Pauls of the 1980s and 1990s were used to play heavy duty rock and roll and its features were designed to make playing the music as simple as possible. Gibsons classic speed knobs made it comfortable and quick for players to turn up the volume and adjust the Les Pauls tone as needed in a flash.Plus Maple Top - Ever since the introduction of the Les Pauland especially the models from Gibson "Golden Era" of the late 1950s and early 1960s - one of its most distinguishing features has been the unique highly distinct patterns of the flame maple top. The "Plus" maple caps on the Les Paul Traditionals emulate the tops of the Les Pauls from yesteryear (Ebony and Goldtop models are fitted with "Plain" maple tops).Period-Correct Pickguard - The creme-colored pickguard has been a Les Paul staple dating back to the models of the late 1950s and the early 1960s. The body itself is made from premium mahogany and it goes through the same rigorous processes as all the wood used by Gibson USA.Pickups: Neck - 57 Classic; Bridge - 57 Classic Plus - Among the qualities that make Gibsons original "Patent Applied For" humbucking pickups so unique are the subtle variations between coil windings. For the first few years of their productions - 1955 to 1961- Gibsons PAF humbuckers were wound using imprecise machines resulting in pickups with slightly different output and tone. Gibson added poly-coated wiring which improves consistency by eliminating thick or thin spots on the wiring and wax potting which removes all internal air space and any chance of microphonic feedback.Revolutionary Plek Set Up - The Les Paul Traditional is the first model from Gibson USA to utilize the revolutionary Plek machine in setting up the guitar. The Plek is a German-made computer-controlled machine that carefully measures each fret along with the fingerboard height under each string and then automatically dresses each... Introducing the Les Paul Traditional electric guitar from Gibson USA. With all the fat sweet snarling Les Paul tone that purists love the Traditional plays sounds and weighs like the Gibson Les Pauls todays players grew up loving and lusting after.Taking design and visual cues from the Les Paul guitars of the 80s and 90s the Les Paul Traditional starts with an un-chambered mahogany body with traditional weight-relief holes for a beefy tone that maintains the resonance of modern Les Pauls. Each Les Paul Traditional also comes with Gibson USAs standard black case.

Gibson Sg Special 60s Tribute Worn Natural
Gear 4 Music Product Information
Since its arrival on the scene in 1961 (originally as the Les Paul/SG Special) Gibsons dual-horned double-cutaway SG has been an iconic rock axe and has become known for solid performance and tonal versatility that is unparalleled in the guitar world. The SG Special 60s Tribute is based around the same revered tonewoods glued-in neck and Alnico-magnet P-90 pickups that made its predecessor legendary with the same Slim Taper 60s neck profile that is behind some of the fastest-playing guitars in history. Stripped-down and ready for business in Worn Natural the SG Special 60s Tribute has the look and feel of a well-played friend right out of the gigbag and comes in at a price that any hard-working player can afford. Its more than just a coincidence that mahogany is one of the most prized woods for electric guitar design and the Gibson USA SG Special 60s Tribute is a classic example of the use of this fine tonewood in an instrument thats both subtle and aggressive. The thin solid-mahogany body offers a considerable reduction on weight when compared to many other solidbody electrics while presenting a warm rich resonance with lots of harmonic depth and sparkle. The guitars solid mahogany neck is carved to a fast Slim Taper profile similar to SGs from the 60s for superb in-the-hand comfort and outstanding playability while its glued in deep-set long-tenon neck/body joint and 17-degree back angled headstock team up to provide a transference of neck resonance into the body thats far superior to other neck designs. Two Gibson P-90 single-coil pickups with genuine Alnico V magnets - some of the finest reproductions of vintage P-90s currently available - yield everything from warm vocal neck tones to plenty of bark and snarl from the bridge position with round and funky tones in between all at the flip of a three-way toggle switch. To enhance all this tonal splendor a stopbar tailpiece provides a rock-solid anchor behind Gibsons legendary Tune-o-matic tailpiece prized for its ability to enhance singing sustain while remaining highly adjustable to perfect your instruments intonation. At the other end of the neck a PLEK-cut Corian nut ensures superior resonance and sustain. Wrap it all in a thin nitrocellulose finish in Worn Cherry Worn Natural Worn White or Worn Ebony with the smaller early 60s pickguard and pearloid dot fingerboard inlays and its a guitar that looks as raw and meaty as it sounds.Features/Specifications:Body:Body: Mahogany Neck:Neck: Mahogany Profile: 60s Slim Taper Fingerboard: Rosewood Frets: 22Inlays: Acrylic Dots Pickups & Hardware:Pickups: P-90Knobs: Black Top Hat with Chrome Inserts Controls: 2 Volume 2 Tone 1 Toggle Switch What do Pete Townshend Carlos Santana and Tony Iommi all have in common? Back in the 60s each of these legendary guitarists played a Gibson SG Special electric guitar with P-90 pickups - and made music history in the process. To bring this beloved rocker back to guitarists in the 21st century Gibson USA introduces the SG Special 60s Tribute a guitar that honors the beloved SG Specials of nearly 50 years ago in an instrument primed with the tone versatility and playability demanded by modern musicians.
