Weekends are often very busy and we recommend that you book several weeks in advance.Weather: Helicopter flying is a weather dependent activity, mainly due to wind speeds and cloud base above the ground, and it's essential that you call the venue for a weather check before setting out.Duration: Your time in the helicopter is around 25-30 minutes from engines-on to engines-off. This includes warm-up, take-off and landing.Numbers On Day: Your briefing might be shared. Your flight will be held one a one-to-one basis with the instructor.Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch you take off and land. A pair of binoculars or a camera will come in handy.Dress Code: Please bear in mind that the cockpit can get quite warm and dress accordingly. Bring sunblock and a hat in summer. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.Guidelines: Flying time can count towards a Private Pilot's Licence. To qualify for a PPL you need a minimum of 45 hours dual-control flying, of which at least 10 hours must be solo flying.Restrictions: Minimum age varies from 12 to 16, according to venue. The vertical take-off is astounding, and the thrills will continue as your pilot shows you how the chopper can move forward, backward, sideways or simply hover motionless in the air. At the pilot's discretion, you'll have the chance to take the controls on your helicopter flight, and feel for yourself the adrenaline rush of manoeuvring these amazing craft.

Andrew Roth, the founder of PP has been digging around in Westminster since 1950 after four years as a foreign correspondent in twenty countries. His credentials are that he is a political biographer (eg. of Wilson, Heath and Powell), a parliamentary correspondent (with the Manchester Evening News), a columnist (for the New Statesman), and an obituarist (for the Guardian). Before his journalistic career, he spent five wartime years in US Naval Intelligence. He has combined objective profiling with a nose for scandal (Profumo, Greer). Co-author Byron Criddle is a Reader in Politics at the Aberdeen University, and is well known as the co-author of the classic work, The Almanac of British Politics, as well as being a contributor to the British General Election Nuffield series since 1983.
