When Don Revie took over as manager at Leeds United in March 1961 he developed one of the greatest ever teams in football. Fans of the game everywhere know the names of Leeds' superstars Billy Bremner, Johnny Giles, Jack Charlton and more. But in Revie's Boys, Leeds United author David Saffer provides a biography for every one of the 75 players selected to play in the Don Revie era. Many never made the grade at first team level, playing just a few games such as Mike Addy, Keith Edwards, Paul Peterson and John Shaw while others including Mick Jones, Norman Hunter, Eddie Gray and Peter Lorimer went on to achieve legendary status. But every one of the players chosen by Revie has a story to tell whether they scored the winning goal at Wembley, played 19 minutes for the first team, fired home a debut hat-trick or became a hero in a UEFA Cup penalty shoot out as a 17-year-old junior 'keeper. During a glorious period in the club's history from 1961 to 1974 Revie turned a team struggling for Division 2 survival into one of the most consistent sides of its generation. Winning six major honours on top of a host of near misses Revie's Boys were feared domestically and in Europe.Revie's Boys includes statistics for each of the 75 players, Revie himself, a season by season review of results and summary of the greatest 50 matches of the Don Revie era.
