Zoltan Bathory of Five Finger Death Punch is another big name in the B.C. Rich roster of Artists.As well as these two titans of metal BC Rich guitars are the weapons favoured by the likes of Brian Fair (Shadows Fall) CJ Pierce (Drowning Pool) Jason Krause (Kid Rock ) Marc Rizzo (Soulfly/Cavalera Conspiracy) and Pat OBrien (Cannibal Corpse) as well as many others. These truly unique guitars are a force to be reckoned with. Can you tame one of these monsters of metal?Bolt-on Construction A number of B.C. Rich guitars use a classic Bolt-on construction. On these instruments a neck (typically maple) is bolted on with 4 screws to the body. This construction offers some added flexibility in the instruments adjustment and provides the option to change the neck in the future.Rockfield Pickups - Mafia Bridge Pickups:BC Rich guitars called Rockfield and asked them "We like the turbo series but can you do them with a ceramic magnet also?" They replied "Thats a great Idea! Sure we can but youve got to use them in everything!" (They didnt win that battle but it was worth a shot) The use of a ceramic magnet gives any pickup extra power due to the increased magnetic field that they provide. This feature makes the mafia pickups produce a hotter and thicker tone thats really aggressive and full. The increased low end and thick mids and in your face highs is what rock and roll was built on! Balanced and full of sustain this pickup is a great representation of its namesake a truly intimidating killer. Neck Pickups:We wanted to make sure the neck version of the mafia pickup was just as full sounding as the bridge position. We wanted to do this without taking away from what we had already accomplished. So we again we went into the wood shed and made very minor modifications to the overall design and design concept of this pickup. When we came out we were confident that the Mafia neck pickup had that punchy bold tone with the same aggressive characteristics as the bridge version. A tad brighter with a little less output really takes this pickup into the smooth and warm realm of the tonal spectrum. All while maintaining that balanced bite and in your face aggressive tone that the mafia is known for!Flat Top Some of the B.C Rich shapes are offered with a flat top. The flat top styling gives a bold and pristine look to the edge of the instruments shape. Usually when the flat top feature is used B.C. Rich adds a stripe of single or multi-ply binding around the edge in a complementary color. But in reality the band has worked hard to develop a following spending more than two years on the road performing with many of the worlds biggest bands. Through it all Zoltan has relied on his B.C. Rich guitars to deliver the aggressive tone playability and dependability required for continual use on the road and in the studio.Neck-Through Construction B.C. Rich is known as one of the pioneers in Neck Through construction. They utilize it on many of their guitars because it provides the best possible sustain resonance comfort and access to higher frets. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high end guitars. This construction starts with premium North American maple or Mahogany and runs from the tip of the headstock to the end of the guitar. The deep arch is achieved by increasing the body center by approximately 5/8" and then gently sloping the arch toward the side of the instrument and leveling out just as the slope reaches the edge.
