The camera carries the serial number (?) 29061 on the name plate of the shutter assembly and is believed to date from the early 1920's. It is enclosed in a brown canvas carrying case with leather shoulder strap which may be original (the closure press-stud carries the name Kodak which is well worn). The leather bellows are in good condition and the Kodex No. 1 shutter and iris assembly appear to work correctly. The shutter has four speeds (T, B, 25, 50) and the aperture four settings numbered simply 1 to 4. There is no glass lens nor, apparently, any provision to mount one. The camera is stated (on the back) to use A116 film (2 1/4" x 3 1/4" ?). The black leather effect case is free from damage, but carries some staining and other signs of wear. The black paint on the external metal surfaces is chipped in places. The black leather carrying handle is complete, but broken at one end. The spiral patterned stylus and mirror-type viewfinder are both present. The pressure plate and a black metal take-up spool, marked "Kodak Film", are present inside the camera.
